Amélie is a freelance writer based in London. Gaining international work experience in the arts industry in Brussels, Paris, London and New York has given her a strong understanding of museums and galleries worldwide. Amélie is a French native with fluency in English, Dutch and Italian. She has a strong interest in the contemporary art scene and started writing for Artlyst in 2013.

Joanne Shurvell, co-director of PayneShurvell gallery is a former Communications Director at the Institute of Contemporary Arts, (ICA) London. She is a freelance arts writer and arts marketing consultant. PayneShurvell represents a group of international artists and encourages an inter-generational dialogue, with established artists like Margaret Harrison who has several paintings in the Tate collection, alongside young and emerging artists.

Sara Faith studied History of Art at the University of Manchester under Sir Nicholas Penny. She had several years experience working in West end contemporary art galleries, before moving into publishing where she worked for Thames & Hudson and was an editor at BCA. For the last 10 years, Sara has been a Director of FCR Gallery in Notting Hill Gate which specialises in 20th century design and Modern British painting. Sara has been a regular exhibitor at international art fairs and has published feature reviews of major museum shows.

Ben Austin studied History of Art at Reading University. He started Catto Contemporary in Shoreditch where he was responsible for helping to launch the careers of several artists and showed Anthony Micallef and Banksy in a curated exhibition entitled ‘Perverse Pop’ back in 2001.

Austin has worked at Art Review, before setting himself up as an independent curator and through Austin Enterprises he staged the legendary Frieze opening night show/party entitled ‘Decadence, Decay and the Demimonde’ at Home House in 2007, which featured art on loan from the Saatchi Gallery (Marcus Harvey, Liz Neal and Barry Reigate).

Olivia McEwan is a trained art historian with BA and MA degrees from the Courtauld Institute, now a freelance writer focusing on the London art world; this academic background contributing to a writing style that – positive or negative – is argued with crucial fairness and balance. Kerim Aytac was born in Istanbul in 1979, and grew up in London whilst studying in a French school. Film was an obsession of his from an early age, and was the subject of his degree studies. Aytac soon found that photography began to offer more creative outlets, which led him to pursue an MA in Photography at Goldsmiths University. Since then he has sought to develop and explore his practice whilst also teaching Film and Photography. Aytac has exhibited in Solo and Group Shows internationally and lives and works in London. He writes about photography and film for several online publications.

Karen Garratt is an artist specialising in sculpture and drawing, and has training in the traditional arts, a genre which borrows techniques and principles from Renaissance and medieval practices as well as ancient making techniques from world cultures. Karen is an essayist whose subject matter addresses the significance of art exhibits, performances and installations within the current state as well as the historical context of art. She is also interested in beauty and transcendence in art.
